Then why not book me for an author visit.
For younger students my visits are based on one of my picture books and linked to a theme for example ‘A Book For Bramble‘ can be linked to the theme of friendship. A typical session can include:
- Reading from one of my books
- Q and A section
- Practical project based on chosen theme e.g. friendship
As part of my fee I supply a slide show to support the Q and A section plus supporting paperwork for the chosen theme, for example a template for a friendship chain.
For older students I can talk to them about my writing day, the process of creative writing or how the publishing industry works. Part of the session can include a workshop tailored to match the subject you are covering with the children at the time.
I try to be as flexible as possible and am willing to adapt any of my talks to suit your needs. However please be aware I am not taking the place of a teacher and children must be supervised by an appropriate member of staff at all times.
My rates are as follows:
- £150 per half day visit
- £250 per full day visit
- Travel expenses (first 15 miles free then 49p per mile)
I invoice prior to my visit and payment is strictly due on the day.
I am a member of Society’s of Authors, I’m fully insurance and have an up-to-date CRB certificate. I typically cover an area within a twenty-five mile radius of Stansted Airport (junction 8 off M11) however I’m happy to travel further for full day visits.
